Trivia for 8/21/2007

* It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky.
I don’t remember where this tidbit come to us from, but after thinking it over, I believe they should specify “four-legged” pigs. I’ve seen plenty of the two-legged ones who were perfectly capable of looking anywhere they chose. Granted, the sky wasn’t their […]

I despise being lied to

<rant>
I’ve mentioned here before that my heart surgeon is insisting that I take blood thinners because of my artificial heart valves.
I’ve mentioned here before that everything I’ve learned about heart valves in the last two years says that blood thinners are not generally required if one has tissue valves (which I do) as opposed to […]

Trivia for 8/20/2007

* A shrimp’s heart is in their head.
Yeah, I know. I’ve skipped a daily trivia post her and there lately. It has to do with the whole, “I’ve got to drive this kid to college and then get this one to and from high school” thing combined with the whole, “the wife needs me to […]

Congrats to my brother

It’s probably obvious that every day I write at least a post or two that is paid. In all honesty, I got started doing this when my brother told me about it. I just got a shock. One of the places I work for has a “top earners for the day” listing and my brother […]

Well, DUH… That’s because when the ostrich has its head in the sand, you can’t see it!

The short version: Charlie, a unicorn, is approached by two other unicorns who wake him from a nap and badger him into visiting Candy Mountain with them. […]

Does this count as a product test?

Have you tried hoodia? We got curious because of all the hype and decided to give it a try. My wife volunteered to be the guniea pig because my doctor didn’t want me mixing it with some of the medications I’m taking.
She only stayed on it for about three days, but she told me tat […]

Tomorrow’s the big day

In just under 12 hours I’ll be getting into the car to drive my oldest daughter 90-some miles to college and I’ll be leaving her there.
I find myself wondering, is she ready for the world? Is the world ready for her?
I guess time will tell…

The heat must make people crazy

I guess it’s got something to do with the heat and how it makes people’s brains shut down. What else would make a person get in the car and drive for 30 minutes so they could walk around a store looking at quoizel lighting fixtures that they had no intention of buying when they bgan […]
