Pain killer addiction can be a killer

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! You hear a lot about drug addiction these days. Marijuana, Crack cocain, Crystal Meth, and liquor come to mind right off the top of my head. The one that I seem to hear the least about, however, is pain killer […]

How I deal with SPAM

I don’t know how many times I’ve heard the comment that the best way to deal with SPAM emails is to delete them unread - preferrably with some sort of filtering software to automate the process.
I prefer to take a more pro-active approach

It’s good to be back

Not much time right now, but I just have to share this:
My GOOD computer is working again!
After putting the power supply (which FINALLY arrived) into it, it was still dead, until I put the old CPU back in it.
Means I paid $26 for a dead CPU.
Nice.

Graduation

Last night I attended my oldest daughter’s graduation ceremony. I still have a hard time believing that she’s 18 and about to be thrown to the wolves. It seems like just yesterday she was getting in trouble in third or fourth grade for throwing one of her shoes at a teacher who had incurred her […]

Caught up!

Since we’re well into the second week since I paid for a power supply and it’s still not here, I decided to import all of Thingamablog’s entries into Wordpress by hand. It took a total of 6 1/2 hours spread over two nights, but Wordpress’s database now contains all my old posts. Unfortunately, any comments […]

I think the mailman is on vacation

As of when the mail was delivered yesterday I still have no power supply. Today is a week since I paid for it. Yesterday I emailed the seller and asked what day it was shipped. He has not yet deigned to answer me. This whole situation is slowly becoming insane!
I have, by the way, found […]

Heart echo scheduled

I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor about the tests the other day. He confirmed that there were no blockages in any of my arteries - which I knew all along, given that I’ve been taking blood thinners for two years - and wants to send me to a cardiologist in a couple of […]

new software set up

Looks like I’ve got WordPress figured out and set up . . . now I just need that power supply to get here so I can convince ThingamaBlog to spit out a complete RSS file so I can import it into WordPress.
Then there’s the issue of the Permalinks having a different format…
If you enjoyed this […]

A decision

This business of not being able to update my blog because of a hardware failure is completely unacceptable! I decided when I woke up this morning that I’m going to migrate this blog to wordpress. All I have to do is import the existing entries into the new database. That means I have to change […]

Health issues, as well!

No entry for yesterday because I had the opportunity to try out a new hospital for one night. (Like the way I made it sound like it was my idea?) I mentioned to my doctor that I’ve been finding myself out of breath at the drop of a hat and that I occassionally have a […]
