I recently replaced my headset because the old one quit working. In the process of playing with testing the new microphone I started messing around with Windows 7′s speech recognition. THAT’s interesting. If I could ever get a chance to use it without a 4-year old over my shoulder yelling things just to make the level meter bounce up and down, I might actually start using that to write all my blog posts. Talking is a whole lot easier than typing with just my two middle fingers.
Cheers,

What kind of headset was it? I will subscribe to the feed. I tried voice recognition years ago and it was easier to type. They must have improved the technology. I can relate to the 4 year old stories, I have 2 grandkids that age. They have to try everything in my office, stuff on shelves that I haven’t noticed in years is new to them.
The brand name is MidiLand (not to be confused with Midland). I’d never heard of the brand, but they were about $6 on eBay, so I picked up some extras just in case.
OK, thanks. That would be fun to check out. I’ll write the Great American Novel! Look out Moby Dick, competition is on the way.
