My wife’s Facebook status, with which I completely agree:
Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court passed down a ruling which says, in so many words, that individual states are not allowed to turn the act of being in the country illegally into a crime.
Wow. I see why we pay them the big bucks. I would certainly have messed this one up entirely.
Maybe its because I’m just an ignorant redneck with a substandard education from backwater Arkansas, but I was always kind of under the impression that if you did something “illegal” you were, by definition, committing a “crime”.
Silly me.
I stand dumbstruck by the obviously superior intellect of the esteemed judges of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
