The day before yesterday I got the air conditioner in my Jeep fixed and life was grand.
Yesterday I was trying to go somewhere and when I got in the Jeep and tried to start it, I barely tapped the gas pedal and it fell all the way to the floor and stayed there. The truck won’t run faster than an idle.
Looking under the hood I discovered that the throttle cable appears to be made in two pieces, connected by a plastic or rubber do-hickie that appears to have cracked or broken.
I’m going out now to see if I can convince it to hold together long enough to get it to the mechanic under it’s own power and, thereby, save an ugly tow charge.
