A simple weight loss experiment

On the advice of Daughter Number Two I started reading today about thermogenic fat burners. Basically, these are foods that raise your body’s temperature and, therefore, it’s metabolism, causing your body to burn fat cells. What surprised me is that Ice Water is a thermogenic food. If you drink eight 16-ounce glasses of water that has been chilled to 40 degrees Fahrenheit then your body burns 200 calories just raising themtemperature of the water so it can be digested. That’s roughly the same number of calories burned when you run 3 miles.

As an experiment I’m going to try doing that and see what it does for my weight.
