We have been experiencing an impressive heat wave over the last couple of weeks. Every day has seen temperatures in the high nineties or low hundreds with heat indexes as high as 112.
The guy who does the news on the radio was talking this morning about the heat wave and announced, with no explanation whatsoever, that the heat has been responsible for the deaths of “12 humans, two police dogs, and a rhinoceros.”
I wasn’t aware that Arkansas had a large population of rhinos.
