A blast from the past
Welcome back!
Who here is old enough to remember the Rubik’s Cube craze from the 1970’s? I am. I remember a time when you couldn’t throw a rock without hitting a Rubik’s Cube. Yes, I had one. I also knew someone who loaned me a book detailing step-by-step instructions on how to solve the thing, too. When I was sixteen (and had nothing better to do with my time) I actually got to where I could solve a thoroughly-scrambled cube in about three minutes. I had a girlfriend who could solve it in just a shade over a minute. I was so jealous.
Somehow recently. Daughter Number Three came up with a Rubik’s Cube and I suffered flashbacks from my previous addiction to the little gizmo. After being completely disgusted at the fact that I can no longer remember how to solve the bottom layer after finishing the top two, I searched online for instructions. I did eventually find them, and, along the way, I discovered that you can download a virtual Rubik’s Cube program and mess with it on your computer when you should be doing other things.
I also discovered that the original Rubik’s Cube is still on sale.
That’s just too tempting. It’s only ten bucks, and I can claim that it’s good exercise for my arthritic hands. Yeah, that’s the ticket!

This looks like a simple toy. But it is actually a great tool to improve your mental capabilities.
It takes patience and skills to complete that puzzle. I’ve never finished it
