I’m drooling again

Welcome back!

babyjedi.jpgThe other day Daughter Number Three was playing with the baby and handed her the cardboard tube from an empty roll of wrapping paper. Being the opportunistic person that I am, I snapped a photo of the situation. Being the die-hard geek that I am, I used The GIMP to change the cardboard tube into a light saber. I then posted this image on FaceBook with the caption, “Never leave your light saber lying around where the baby can get it.”

I’m rather proud of this picture, but I find myself wishing I had a digital camcorder so I could do stuff like this with video. My Canon Powershot G2 has the ability to capture video, but the videos are very limited in size and duration.

This refurbished digital camcorder is on sale this week at buy.com for 50% off. Where my ancient-by-today’s-standards camera is limited to 1 minute video clips, this bad boy can record for up to an hour and at twice the video size and what my camera can do. I am so jealous! I’ve got a program that will add a light saber effect to a video; I just don’t have a way to record a respectably long video.

Of course, if I had that, then I’d be wanting to take out a loan to build a studio for taking and modifying pictures and videos. Oh wait… I already do want to do that. I know people who have put Paypal “donate” buttons on their blogs and actually had them work as intended.

Hrmmm… maybe I’ll go look around at paypal next.

This is so cool. I hope I’m not too late to grab one myself. Thanks for sharing.
