Why you should always read the fine print

I was sent to buy a couple of cans of potato chips recently and when I got to the store they were out of the regular-sized cans of sour cream and onion chips. They did, however, have a larger can with the words “Super Stack” emblazoned across the front of the can. The larger can was about 50 cents more but I went ahead and got it anyway. When I got a chance I compared the nutritional information box on the larger can to the one on a smaller can.

The smaller can says:
Serving Size: 1 oz (about 15 crisps)
Servings per container: 6

6 * 15 = 90 chips in the smaller can. Now, let’s have a look at that “Super Stack”.

The larger can says:
Serving Size: 1 oz (about 16 crisps)
Servings per container: 6

6 * 16 = 96 chips in a “Super Stack”
