Mother’s Day, again?

Welcome back!

It’s hard to believe that Mother’s Day is coming up next month. Didn’t we just celebrate Mother’s Day last May?

Oh, wait.

I guess I need to start watching for a sale on stuff my wife will want the girls to find for her. She’s always going on about how difficult I am to shop for, but, truth be told, she’s the one who’s difficult to buy for. It’s usually not too hard to figure out what I want.If nothing else, I’m usually satisfied with blank DVD media because I’m forever running out of it.

My wife, on the other hand, can do an amazing job of not telling anyone - even me - what it is she wants for Mother’s Day, Christmas, her birthday, our anniversary, or any other occasion.

There have been a few times I can think of when one of the girls has asked me, “Should I get this for Mom?” and I told whichever child it was that the item in question was just exactly what her mother wanted, only to find out later that, while she appreciated the thought and the effort that went into the gift, the item itself was something she never would have bought herself in a million years.

Oh well… At least we tried… right?

Thank you for this post. I had forgotten all about Mother’s day. My mom never knows what she wants. I swear my parents are the hardest people to shop for in the world.

I forgot about Mother’s Day so I didn’t get her a gift or head out to see her. I did call her, though, which she appreciated. I’ll be a better daughter next year.
