The MRI has been scheduled

Wednesday is the big day. That’s the day I drive Daughter Number Three to Little Rock for a pre-surgery MRI on her back. The reason for the MRI is si that during surgery they will know exactly where her spinal cord is in all that mess.

They’ve also told us that after the MRI they’ll schedule a date for her surgery but they’re going to list her as “priority” so that if anything sooner comes open she’ll get it. This means that we could, at any moment, get a phone call from a surgeon saying, “Can you have her here in three hours?”

I’ll be glad when the surgery is done and she’s fully recovered. Then we can go back to the days when the biggest worry was which acne treatment worked best for which kid.

I hope that all went well! I hate to hear that children have to under-go these kinds of things, it’s no fair! Not fair for anyone in fact.
