Man in Thor costume scares off burglar
Welcome back!
I’m still kind of in shock over the sudden death of my sister-in-law, so I’ve been doing little things to try to keep my mind off of that particular subject. While thumbing through the “Odd News” section of snopes.com just now I ran into a story about a man in Scotland who came home from a costume party dressed as the Norse God of Thunder, Thor, and frightened away a burglar.
The would-be victim said the burglar looked like he had had a few drinks. Can you imagine what must have gone through that guy’s head, to see some guy in a red cape and a winged helmet running after him?
That should be added to a list of home security tips:
Get a large, intimidating dog. Make sure you have plenty of outdoor lighting. And, oh yeah, invest in a Thor costume.

I read a similiar story were a break in occured on halloween and the home owner was dressed as a cop (but not acrually one) and sent a burglar running in fear
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. That is a funny story about the burglar though and a go idea to keep costumes like that handy to scare off would be burglars.
Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law.
I read about the burglar news a few days back in a local newspaper. For a moment it sounded funny but then the costume actually got him scared. Lucky he didn’t get off with anything from the house.
