Don’t send your kids outside in Galveston
Welcome back!
Daughter Number Two found this article with StumbleUpon and I just HAD to do what I could to help get the word out about this outrage.
Picture this: It’s 8PM, and you’re a mother seeing to it that the kids get bathed and ready for school in the morning when the circuit breaker trips and the lights go out. Since your hands are full, you ask your twelve-year-old daughter to step outside and turn it back on. Once she gets outside, three men in street clothes emerge from an unmarked van and rush toward her. One of them tells her, “You’re a prostitute. You’re coming with me.”
The young girl grabs hold of a tree and yells, “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy” then one of the men covers her mouth as the other two begin to beat her about the face and throat.
The three men were police officers investigating allegations of prostitution two blocks from the girls home. They apparently felt that because the girl was black and wearing tight shorts in her own yard and for just a few moments that she must have been one of the white prostitutes they were investigating.
This girl was hospitalized with black eyes as well as throat and ear drum injuries.
To add insult to injury (literally!), three weeks later, this 12-year-old girl was arrested at her school and charged with assaulting a public servant.
According to the article I read at www.examiner.com, the girl’s parents have filed a lawsuit.
I agree with the author’s comments that a police department like that shouldn’t just be sued; it should be disbanded.

I can’t believe this.
This is a sad story!

The sad part is that this didn’t even make the national news. Police corruption and cruelty are so commonplace in the world today that this travesty of justice did not even warrant a public outcry.
That is just insane and distracting. This is unbelievable for me. What the hell is going out there actually?
Police officers are legally permitted to use force in some cases. But this is not THAT case! What happens to people?i’ve noticed that more and more people become malicious and mean. Police is a different story, they become CRAZY!
Will it be changed with current change in politics? I am very hopeful but this was the worse incident of abusing citizens.
