An idea for a remake

The other night we were watching season one of Gilligan’s Island because Daughter Number Four got it as a gift a while back and it was her turn to choose what we watch.
Since that show doesn’t exactly require one’s undivided attention to follow, I started thinking about other shows that have been remade recently, such as Bewitched, The Dukes of Hazard, and Get Smart. It dawned on me that Gilligan’s Island is a perfect candidate to be remade. So, as I was watching the show I was also putting together details for the remake.
It wouldn’t have to be a feature-length movie. We could do a made-for-TV movie to use as a premier for a new series. We could change the S. S. Minnow from a touring boat to an airplane and increase the number of passengers. The whole series would still be about the castaways’ adventures on the island and their failed attempts to leave the place.
Of course, to go with the new, modernized look, the show would need a new, modernized name. Something short, catchy, and easy to remember and associate with the new show. We could call the Gilligan’s Island remake LOST.
Oh, wait…
