A lesson learned

Yesterday I took Daughter Number Two and went to a local graveyard to take some pictures. Maybe I’m just morbid, but I think old tombstones make for great pictures. Along the way, however, I made a really stupid mistake and now I’m going to post it here so the whole world knows what a stupid thing I did.
Along with graveyards and tombstones, another of my other favorite things to photograph is old, weather-beaten buildings. On the way to the graveyard we passed this beautiful old barn with a horse standing in front of it. There was also a piece of heavy duty farm equipment which I can’t name sitting in front of the barn. I stopped on the side of the road and shot a few pictures of the barn and the horse. After a minute or so, this woman came out of the house and glared daggers at me, so I put my camera away and left. When I got to the graveyard I quickly forgot the whole business with the angry homeowner because there was just SO MUCH to photograph at that graveyard. I came home with a memory card full of only 22 pictures. Anyone looking for Christmas gift ideas for me can forget about the Audemars Piguet swiss watch and get me a CompactFlash memory card bigger than 32Megabytes.
Anywho, after I got home I heard on the police radio scanner that the cops were running the tag on the car I was driving earlier. Seems the woman with the horse called the cops because I was taking pictures. Okay, I should have knocked on the door and asked permission before I did anything else, but what did she think, I was going to use Mom’s little compact car to drag away her ginormous whatever-it-is?
