A deal’s a deal

Welcome back!

Daughter Number Three likes silly songs. It seems that she’s always spouting lyrics to songs like, “Oh, where is my hairbrush” (from Vegie-Tales) or “Put A Banana In Your Ear” (from Who-Knows-Where).

One of her favorite artists is “Weird Al” Yankovic. I’m afraid that would be my fault. I’m the one who introduced her to songs like, “Yoda“, “Livin’ In The Fridge“, and “Eat It!

Recently I have been trying various ways to get her to STOP singing and quoting Weird Al at me all the time. I tried telling her that I was going to take $1 out of her allowance for every Weird Al song she subjected me to. When the amount I was threatening to take surpassed the amount she gets, she got the idea that I probably wasn’t going to take her money.

And then it happened.

She was cleaning her room last weekend and, for reasons that even she can’t explain, Daughter Number Three lay down on the bed, put her head in an upturned empty box, and went to sleep. I took shameless advantage of the situation and snapped a picture before waking her up. Once she was awake I showed her the picture and told her that the next time I heard anything from Weird Al come out of her mouth, that picture was going online.

She spent 30 minutes begging me not to do that and promising that I wouldn’t hear any more Weird Al. I’ll give her credit. It’s been The Chipmonks and Ray Stevens, but no Weird Al. Until this afternoon.

The deal was that I’d put the picture online. Nothing was said about not being allowed to edit it first. So, with Daughter Number Three’s feelings in mind, here’s the picture:
