Is that you, Bill?

Welcome back!

I find it amazing how people can change when you lose track of them.

I was logged in to my MySpace account this morning searching for people from my high school whom I might have known. I happened upon a couple. Gary, who could never decide between drawing comics and writing The Great American Novel is now a published author and is currently working on his first screenplay.

And then there’s Bill.

Back in high school, Bill was working part-time at a place that processed bank statements - the larger banks don’t have the time or the manpower to do it themselves, so they hire these folks to do it. Bill usually showed up for school wearing dress slacks and a dress shirt, with his hair trimmed neatly and no facial hair other than a well-trimmed mustache.

The pictures of Bill on MySpace look like someone who’d be more at home on a pirate ship than in an office - long hair, shaggy beard, well-used blue jeans, and one picture even shows him wearing a bandana with him and his wife are on their used Harleys in front of the Grand Canyon.

“Wow.” That’s it. Just, “Wow.”
