An explanation
Welcome back!
Recently, someone posted a comment asking why I refer to my children as “Daughter Number One”, “Daughter Number Two”, and so on instead of just referring to them by name. This post is an answer to that comment.
The short answer, not to put too fine a point on it, is: my blog, my rules. I do it that way because I want to.
The longer answer is that this blog is mainly about my family and the events we deal with. I’m not real thrilled with the idea of divulging a lot of personal information over the internet. First off, it doesn’t seem to be a very wise thing to do and, secondly, by not revealing their names, I can say what I want without, for example, having Daughter Number Three come home from school all upset with me because I mentioned her acne treatment online and That Boy saw the post.
It just makes my life a little more comfortable.
Did you ever wonder why I use the name Thriell? Honestly, my mother never named any of her children Thriell. That’s a name I decided to use online. It actually does have some meaning. I used to work for an electronics company assembling fish locators - you know, those sonar units that tell you where the fish are. My job was to connect the circuit boards to the power connector on the back of the case. On every unit I wired I affixed a sticker with my “assembler number” (so I would get the blame if it was wired incorrectly). My assembler number was 3L. I simply spelled it out - three-el - then ran it together - threeel - and fixed the spelling - thriell - but the pronunciation is still the same - 3L.

Very true indeed! I think your are doing right thing by not revealing your personal details on the web indeed! One should always maintain secrecy in this aspect for sure and assembling number is a wonderful idea indeed! I am digging this wonderful blog: http://digg.com/users/choicefreedom20/history
It is good not to mention your real name. But the explanation behind the “Thriell” is a bit weird .
