My little vacation

Welcome back!

Recently I drove Daughter Number Two to Fulton, Missouri so she could tour the college she plans on attending. Since it’s almost a 12-hour trip, we drove there the night before and stayed with friends. The college campus is beautiful. I was very glad I remembered to take my camera along. You can see the pictures I took here.

There is a museum on campus, dedicated to World Wars I and II and Winston Churchill’s visit to the campus after WWII. Part of the museum is a church that was originally constructed in London, England in the 17th century. The building was disassembled and shipped here in 2002 as a gift after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

After touring the campus and looking through the museum, our friends took my daughter and me out to a Chinese buffet which was totally awesome because Daughter Number Two and I are the only two in the house who like Chinese food, so we rarely get to eat it. Of course, the downside to that is that I ate so much that I now feel the need to find a list of best diet pills. In all seriousness, I haven’t had crab salad, egg rolls, and sweet and sour chicken in probably 15 years.

To quote one of my daughters (who shall remain unidentified), “Nom nom nom nom nom.”

Om nom nom! I love Chinese food too but rarely get to eat it because of my roommates. I hope that your daughter has a fun time at college, I know I do and it is super fun. Just make sure she doesn’t get into too much trouble.

For anyone who may have noticed my typographical error, I have since fixed it. I enjoyed “sweet and sour chicken”, not “swear and sour chicken”.

    :D
