Welcome home
It’s a very happy day at this end of the internet as we welcome the newest edition to the family, Mollie Elisabeth. She is Daughter Number One of my own Daughter Number One, so she shall forever more be known here after this post as Granddaughter Number One.
Before anybody asks, no, I did not misspell her name. Daughter Number One chose the old English spelling for her middle name. I think it’s beautiful. And, it carries on the (recent) family tradition of spelling names strangely. One of my four girls was blessed with the middle name “Marree” (Her name came close to being Kobayashi Maru just because her mother and I like Star Trek.)
Mollie was born on May 28th at 3:34AM. and weighed in at 7lbs 6.6oz. Given that before pregnancy Daughter Number One barely weighed 105lbs dripping wet, I’m impressed. If her first few post-natal minutes are any example, then this child is not going to be one for waiting around on other people. She was born about 2 minutes before the doctor (who lives 5 minutes from the hospital) could get there.
Without further ado, I present to you Granddaughter Number One:

Congratulations!
