Separated At Birth #10: Arthur Duncan and Ben Vereen

I noticed this one just last night when Mom and I were watching The Lawrence Welk Show.

When I was younger and my parents would turn on that show, I’d find any excuse I could think of to go do something else - anything else … even reading performance reviews for the dishwasher my father refused to buy.

I know I’m starting to show my age now, because these days when PBS shows rerun of the same shows my parents used to watch, I’m usually right there with my mother-in-law watching - and enjoying - them.

At any rate, Arthur Duncan is the shows foremost tap dancer. I took a good look at him last night and all of a sudden I was seeing Ben Vereen in his role as Chicken George in the 1977 mini-series, Roots.

Click the thumbnails for the full-size pictures and tell me they don’t look like the same man.
