Here’s hoping you have a Green Christmas
I’ll be honest. I’m not sure what to think of the whole Global Warming thing. I’ve heard very convincing arguments supporting both sides. I have, however, come to the conclusion that whether we are headed for a climatic disaster or not, this planet is mankind’s home and it makes sense to take care of it.
At www.greenandmore.com you can find a wide selection of eco friendly products that would make great Christmas (or any other occasion) gifts. For example, rather than going through 27,000 sets of AA batteries next year, why not pick up a solar battery charger? It can power your cell phone, iPod, MP3 player, or other handheld electronic device with power from the sun.
And, for the Scrooge on your Christmas list, the Kill-A-Watt Electricity Monitor can report which appliances are driving up the electric usage the fastest.
Personally, even though the website claims they’re for children, I would absolutely love a chance to play around with the Horizon Fuel Cell H-Racer. It’s a remote-controlled car that is powered by a miniature hydrogen fuel cell. No batteries needed for this sucker; it gets its fuel from water!
It kind of reminds me of a remote-controlled car I had as a kid. It had a couple of photo cells on the roof of the car. Shining a flashlight on both cells made it go forward. Hitting just one cell with the light made it turn toward that side. You couldn’t make it go backwards and you couldn’t drive under anything that wasn’t transparent.
