At 10:30 this morning, I went back to use “the little computer“, presumably to post an entry or two on this blog, because “the good computer” was being used by my wife. I sat down in front of “the little computer” and when I turned on the monitor (the computer stays turned on 24/7 because of another program I like to leave running) I was greeted with
Explorerer has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down
and nothing short of the power button would make it do anything. Of course, the power button caused it to take an extra 15 minutes to run scandisk and then when Windows98 finally did get started, the program I leave running came to life and realized it was several hours behind schedule and proceeded to eat all the cpu cycled until it got caught up.
So, 45 minutes after I sat down, I’m finally ready to start what I came back here to do, right? Wrong. The next hour and a half was filled calls to help unstick jar lids, requests for my opinion on this, that, or the other gift idea, and the requisite 4 trips to the bathroom because I take Lasix, and a discussion about what’s to be done about dinner.
It is now two hours since I started this ordeal and all I’ve managed to do is put up this post complaining about all the delays.
Yup. It’s gonna be a GREAT day!
