They’re backwards in Vegas

Welcome back!

We were talking about hotels (I don’t remember why) and it occurred to me to wonder why it is that the hotels in Las Vegas are named backwards.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their hotels have names like “The Tulsa Excelsior” and “The Tulsa Marriot”.

Once you go to Las Vegas, however, you start finding names like “The Flamingo Las Vegas” and “The Stardust Las Vegas”.

Why is that?

    That’s hilarious. I’ve never been to Vegas, and probably never will, but that’s funny…I haven’t seen that wording anywhere else, and I’ve been to a good amount of different states. Weird…
