Good enough to be fake?

Why is it that when a plant is real and someone is expressing how beautiful it is, they say it looks good enough to be artificial, but when that same person is looking at an artificial plant, they’ll say it looks good enough to be real?

The people who do this sound to me like they think that in some way, whichever the plant is NOT is better than what it IS.

Just once I’d like to see someone look at a group of silk trees and say something like, “Wow, those are great looking artificial plants.” and not compare them to what they’re not.
