Least favorite jobs - part two

Okay, since nobody answered my question yesterday about what your least favorite job was, then today I’m going to regale you with the story of my second least favorite job.

Two words: janitorial service.

This was actually my first job. I was working for minimum wage about three hours a night cleaning offices. To give you an idea of the kind of turnover they had there, the night I started there, the guy said that, while he couldn’t enforce it, he really wanted everyone to promise him they’d work at least three months.

There were four of us that started together. after three months of vacuuming floors, cleaning ash trays and emptying trash cans that were hidden under all sorts of office desks, I was the last one of the four of us to quit … on day ninety.

As the old saying goes, “it’s a dirty job, but somebody’s gotta do it.”
