I think I’m melting
Welcome back!
I just can’t get over how hot it is this summer. I don’t know if it’s actually hotter than it’s ever been before or if it’s because the heat has had a bad effect on me ever since I started having heart trouble.
Yesterday I was out in the heat all day because I drove my daughter back to school and that’s a three hour trip - each way. Today I was out long enough to drop another daughter at her aunt’s place and pick up some dog food on the way home. Unfortunatly, this required driving past the bank in the middle of what they laughingly call “town” at this end of the internet, where the thermometer mercilesly reported the temperature at 105 degrees. Remember, those things don’t allow for heat index - which was probably around 115 or so.
About the only creatures I’ve seen that don’t seem to be bothered by the heat are the blasted seed ticks. I must’v picked up 20,000 of them while loading the car yesterday. I thouht I got them all off, but I’m finding out I thought wrong.
Maybe someday I’ll talk to a real estate agent about finding a place where the temperature is a constant 72 degrees and the’ve never heard of seed ticks.
Someday.
