An electric shower?

Is it just me or does there seem to be something inheritly sinister about the phrase “electric shower”? I am a firm believer that electricity and water should not be mixed - especially if I’m standing with the water in question spraying on my body!

In truth, the only ‘electric’ part of an electric shower is a control panel that allows you to select the temperature and intensity of the water spray. Thanks, but I’ll stick with the traditional Taps where you bend down and turn one knob for hot water and another for cold water.

If I were to install one of those fancy electric shower units there’s a really high probability that some poor soul would get electricuted just because it was me who installed the thing.

Want to know another reason why I don’t care for the idea of electronic water Taps? Have you ever had to use a public restroom and when you’re trying to wash your hands the faucet keeps shutting off because it’s got a motion detector to decide whether you get any water or not?

At the risk of repeating myself, I’ll stick with a good old-fashoned turn-the-knob style faucet.
