New York’s newest stupidity

According to what I saw on the national news last evening, the state of New York is thinking of taking a cue from London and charging $8 for cars and $21 for trucks entering Manhattan South of 86th street.

That means that some people are going to have to pay a fee every day just to go to work, so they can earn the money to pay the fee so they can go to work…(ad infinitum)

If they’re going to listen to ideas from London, then they should also listen to complaints from the people in London who have to live with that lunacy.

The news story last night included several interviews with London drivers who didn’t like the idea 4 years ago and don’t see any difference now, except that they have another tax to pay.

Convienently, abcnews.com’s version of the article has omitted those interviews.

Unbiased reporting? Yeah, right.

Hey! There’s an idea! Remember when the Segway was first introduced? It was supposed to revolutionize the transportation industry. This could be its big chance.
