I noticed a small problem with the comment system modifications. In order to post a comment on my own blog (replying to someone else’s comment) I had to log out of my admin account and then it refused to take the name when I typed it.

Guess I should have tested it more vigorously before making a big announcement.

I’m looking at other ideas … tomorrow.

I’ve been having a major problem with spammers too. I’m looking for a solution. Currently I’m using comment moderation (which I hate) and Askimet. Askimet seems to be okay, I’ll see. I’ll be eagerly watching what you come up with :)

I’ve seen wordpress blogs with a plugin that asks the commenter to copy a random word or 5 random letters before accepting their comment. I’m not terribly fond of that system myself because my rheumatoid arthritis has me typing with 2 fingers, so I am now the King of Typos. Also, my wife hates those systems ’cause she’s legally blind and can only see the computer with a magnifier.

Still, something needs to be done…
