According to what I’ve read, the average user is unable to change the battery in that device. It seems the battery is soldered directly to the circuit board, requiring an $80 “service fee” and a three-day trip to a repair center so that the tech people can change the battery.
Want some more good news about your favorite new toy? It seems that once the techies do get your dead battery out, the device loses anything it may have had stored in its memory.
I guess the engineers over at apple haven’t heard of something as commonplace as non-volitale RAM. Glad I didn’t run out and get one of those…
