Games kids play…

The two older girls have each told me about a game that they heard about and I thought I’d share.
From the Arkansas School for Math Science and the Arts (where the smartest 1% of the kids in the state attend - that makes this downright frightening):
The game:
To think of The Game is to play The Game.
To play The Game is to lose The Game.
To lose The Game is to proclaim, “I lose!”
The end result is that (and I’ve been to the school and seen this
with my own eyes) for no apparent reason, someone will say, “I
lose” and a second later, 25 kids will say, in unison, “I lose.”
From an email that my oldest got from one of her friends the other day:
The Tampon Game:
Think of the name of any movie.
Replace one significant word in the movie title with the word
“Tampon”.
This results in stuff like:
Star Wars: Revenge of the Tampon
Dances With Tampons
Night of the Living Tampon
A Tampon on Elm Street
2010: The Year We make Tampon.
and, my personal favorite,
Indiana Jones and the Tampon of Doom
There was a more complete list in the email that my daughter got; this is just some of what we thought up at the breakfast table today.
