Test-day drawing near

In two days I’m scheduled to go in for what is referred to as a TEE. That stands for Trans-Esophagial Echocardiogram.

In plain, non-vulcan English It means that they’re going to knock me out then take the transducer (michrophone-thingumy) of an ultrasound machine and shove it halfway down my throat then stop and point it to the left so they can get pictures of my heart valves.

As Tuesday approaches I find myself getting more and more apprehensive about this proceedure because about a year ago another doctor tried to do this and almost couldn’t wake me up after having to stop the proceedure without finishng. The really special part was when the exact same thing happened again the next day.
