The (Other) End of the Internet

You hear a lot about drug addiction these days. Marijuana, Crack cocain, Crystal Meth, and liquor come to mind right off the top of my head. The one that I seem to hear the least about, however, is pain killer addiction. Seriously, other than Rush Limbaugh, I can’t think of anyone I’ve heard of being addicted to pain killers. I can see how it can happen, though, believe me - I deal with Rheumatoid Arthritis every day and there have been many times I’ve been thankful that I don’t (yet) need pain killers any stronger than Ibuprophen and, while it will eat a hole in my stomach if I’m not careful, at least its not addictive.

I’m sure there have been a lot more cases of pain killer addiction than just Mr. Limbaugh. I just don’t hear about them way out at this end of the internet.
