More problems…

I discovered tonight that the “NLTDR is missing” message that my drive keeps giving can be fixed by copying a few files from the Win XP install disk. So, I did the hard drive switcheroo again, booted from the setup disk, copied the files in question, got the same “NTLDR is missing message”, swore a bunch, and switched the drives back again.

As an added benefit, part of the agreement about this Hewlet-Packard(-Bell) machine was that I’d format it and reinstall Windows to make sure all of the other guy’s stuff was gone. I tried this today and discovered that the system locks up instead of actually running setup from the HP restore disks. Grand!!

The only good news is that my loving wife has bought me a 1.0Ghz Celeron to replace my old one - and it was only $20+shipping. I love ebay! Now I just have to wait for it to get here.
