Musical hard drives

I talked with someone I know and traded a Plymouth that I’m not driving for a computer he wanted to get rid of. Worked out well because I expect that the CPU is going to cost me more than I can lay hands on for a while. At the moment, since I can’t use the computer with my blog’s databases on it, I’m using the newly acquired computer to store blog entries until I can actually put them online.

I got the bright idea to pull the 15gig drive out of the HP I just got and put the 80gig drive out of “old faithful” into it. to make a long story short, I’ve traded hard drives twice and still can’t get the HP to recognize and boot my 80gig drive. Sigh.

And, by the way, I got a call tonight from my isp asking if I was able to connect yet. Yes, the new computer (’new’ being a euphamism) can connect. At this point they informed me that all the trouble I was having loading pages and, later, connecting was, in fact, their hardware messing up.

Ah well… I get the impression that it was only a matter of time before my CPU fried itself.

Timing is everything!
