Adventures In Registration
I tried to create an account at http://del.icio.us - a place where you can save and exchange bookmarks from various blogs. Here’s what happened:
I enter my desired username (thriell), my real name, my password, my password again, my email address, and the six random letters that prevent robots from signing up.
I click ‘Register”.
I am returned to the same screen I just left - with the form to fill out again.
I roll my eyes.
I enter all the above information back into the form.
I click ‘Register’.
I am returned to the blank form again, this time with the notification that my desired username is already in use.
I heave a sigh.
I return to the ‘Log-in’ page and give it the username and password I just tried to create.
When I click ‘Log in’ I am returned to a blank login form.
I grumble under my breath.
I return to the ‘register’ form and choose a different username (thriell7) then re-enter all the rest of the information a THIRD time.
I cross my fingers and click “register”.
I am again returned to the blank ‘register’ form.
I slam my fist down on the desk.
I fill out the blankety blank form for a FOURTH time.
I click the dreaded ‘register’ button.
I swear I hear distant laughter as I am once again returned to the blank form, this time sporting a notification that the username ‘thriell7′ is already in use.
I finally come to the conclusion that registering with this particular site is just not worth the headache.
