“If you try to fail, and succeed, what have you done?”

I don’t remember where I read that, but it’s just the kind of circular logic I enjoy. Here’s another shining example from the original Star Trek:

Kirk is trying to outsmart an android named Norman.

Kirk (to Norman): Everything Harry Mudd says is a lie. He is incapable of telling the truth.

Harry Mudd: Listen to me, Norman. I am lying.

Norman: If you are lying then you are telling the truth, but if you are incapable of telling the truth then you are lying, but if you are lying then you are telling the truth, but if you are incapable of telling the truth then you are lying, but if you are lying then you are telling the truth, but if you are incapable of telling the truth then you are lying, but …

Smoke starts coming out of Norman’s ears.
