Got insurance?
There has always been something about buying any form of insurance that bothered me. I guess its just the idea of paying good money for something that you hope never to use. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Recently I’ve been hospitalized enough to realize that maybe some life insurance wouldn’t be a bad idea - I really don’t need something unthinkable happening to me and leaving my wife and kids in the lurch.
Following that reasoning, a good homeowner’s policy can be a lifesaver. Twenty years of insurance payments is nothing next to the cost of replacing a house that’s been gutted by fire. Even after paying for an auto insurance policy for five years, you still have probably not paid out as much as it would cost to replace your car after it gets smashed.
I guess what it all boils down to is the fact that I’m one of those people who doesn’t like to admit that something bad might happen and, therefore, it galls me to have to prepare for it just in case.
