The (Other) End of the Internet

The last stop on the information superhighway. All traffic must exit in 500 feet.

What a day!

I had to make the trip to pick my daughter up from school this weekend. It’s 180 miles each way. About 100 miles from home, at 70 miles per hour, the back tire decided to give up the ghost. I got the (borrowed) car pulled over and got the spare and the jack out of the trunk, only to discover that the ratchet-thingumy that makes the whole shooting match WORK is missing!

Fortunately just seconds before I started ranting and raving about what a mess we had landed in, this pickup truck pulled up behind us. The guy not only had a jack that was complete and worked on this car, but when he saw what rheumatoid arthritis has done to my hands, he went so far as to change the tire FOR me.

I’m still thanking God for that man because without his help, I’d probably STILL be parked on the side of the highway wondering what in the world to do.

If my mysterious benefactor happens across this post then I just want to say “Thanks” again and warn him that I’ll be making the same trip again tomorrow… ;)
